Ligaments and tendons’ injuries are often a consequence of non-compliance with technics, using large weights and excessive loads.

The best remedy for injuries is their prevention, but even perfect compliance with technics does not reduce wear and tear of the body to "zero". Therefore, every bodybuilder should carry out preventive courses of special preparations 2-3 times a year.

Preventing sprains and cartilage injuries

The course is very simple; use combined glucosamine and chondroitin. Dosages should be 1000-2000 mg of each component per day for 2-3 months.

But if the injury does happen, it is necessary to pass a special course of quick recovery.

Intensive care course for ligaments and cartilage

The base is the same, the dosage is higher - 3,000 mg a day for 3 months. In addition, eat special vitaminized supplements at a dose of 2 times higher than recommended. It may be any pharmaceutical vitamins (GNC, Centrum, One a day). If the injury happened during winter-spring period – it’s necessary to include vitamin D additionally to the course (in the dosage given in using instructions). This combination is sufficient for quick reanimation of damaged areas.

The course of intensive care in acute pain

This is an additional course to the previous one. Ligament damage is often accompanied by severe pain.

The first thing to do is to apply anti-inflammatory analgesic gels on the injured area for 2-3 weeks. Painkilling itself is not the most important, but because all anti-inflammatory drugs have an analgesic effect, this is a given. For these purposes the best is Diclofenac. Anti-inflammatory gels should be applied 2-4 times a day on the injured area and surrounding parts.

Ligaments and tendons

Experience shows that one gel is often not enough; the action from inside is required. The best drug is Nimesulide. Pills should be taken 2 times a day for ½ - 2 pcs during 1-2 weeks. It must be remembered that Nimesulide is a difficult material for the body, the extra doses of pills are absolutely not necessary.

It must be also remembered that when using anti-inflammatory and painkilling medications you can train, but with lower weights, it’s inadmissible to train injured parts of body.
